Sat 17 April - 6.30pm
15/04/2010 12:45
Action returns to the Norfolk Arena this Saturday 17th April (6.30pm) when the 2L Bangers are in action together with the F2 Stock Cars and the 1300 Stock Cars.
Almost 50 2L Bangers are booked in for action which is extremeley encouraging with a number of rumours also flying about some extra names making an appearance on the night. The Bangers will be in action in their third 2L Banger World Qualifier together with the staging of their 2009 White & Yellow Final.
349 Michale Allard currently leads the way in both the National Points and the World Qualifying Series and following his best ever start to a campaign he will be looking to continue the momentum which has seen him rise to the top. He is currently being challenged for that number one spot by a couple of top national names who will also be looking to score well on Saturday including 348 Sonny "Mushy" Sherwood and British Champion 119 Davey "Cruncher" Cox.
Also currently riding high in the World Qualifying stakes and looking to cememnt their position on the grid are former champion and new TSR signing for 2010 730 Dean Mayes, 791 Nicky "Spud" Young and 85 James Ellis.
Some of the drivers who are looking to challenge the more established names for a place on the grid include 390 David Gibson, 639 Paul "Stick" Vines and following a great start since his move to TSR, 897 Matt Battle.
The Entertainer League is already now in full swing and whilst the ususal pairing of Ellis and Spud are battling at the top of the chart, some fantastic crashing exploits from Sheffield Young Gun 70 Ant Long and running Partner 50 Simon West together with rated star performances from 572 Paul Scully also see him with a top berth in the league.
Also being staged for the 2L Bangers on Saturday night is the 2009 White and Yellow Final 572 Paul Scully was the top points scorer in the series and even though he starts with the blues now he will be one of the favorites for the race.
As well as a good East Anglian entry, the 2L Bangers are also benefitting from a large Sheffield invasion and when a double figure number of South Yorkshire crashers are in attendance you can guarantee a lively meeting is on the cards!
Following a very entertaining performance last time out expect more fireworks form 247 Lee "Bro" Clarke as well!
A mid 30s number of F2s are currently booked in to race and around 40 are expected to be in action on the night. National Points Champion 38 David Polley - who missed the last King's Lynn meeting due to the birth of his child - will be back in action and looking to make up for lost time. 871 Mark Simpson and 606 Andrew Palmer are always closely matched around the Norfolk Arena and will be aiming to lead a star challenge which will see them land the first red top final win of 2010 at the Norfolk Arena after the earlier finals this year have been hoarded by the lower grade drivers afer 507 Craig McNerny and 19 Martin Ford both threw the form book upside down as they produced fantastic drives to land the spoils in the first two majors of 2010 at the track.
Completing the bill on a night where there is something for everyone are the 1300 Stock Cars where another 20+ turnout should be on the cards. Every meeting so far at lynn for th 1300 Stock Cars has attracted over 20 cars and out of the 12 cars currently booked in to race, no less than 4 are making their season debut with 308 Alex Hannay and 14 Anthony Heathway making their debuts in the formula, 180 Carl Scott making his forst appearance for 3 years in a 1300 Stock car and 236 Stuart Sharpe out for the first time.
It all promises to be another fantastic night of full contact racing at the Norfolk Arena - This Saturday 17 April - Don't miss it!!
