Last F1 King’s Lynn for four months?

Change of date for World Qualifying Round

If England win the group that they are in at this year’s World Cup (which they are 1/3 odds on with the bookies to do!), our meeting on Sat 26 June which features F1 & 2L Stock Cars and Lady Bangers will clash live with the first world cup knockout game which features England – and there is also a very high possibility that this could be an England v Germany game.

Clashing with a live England game will completely wipe out our crowd and should this happen we will not be running the meeting and there is unfortunately no suitable space for it to be allocated elsewhere.

This means that following out next F1 meeting on Saturday 29 May (6.30pm) there is a very high chance that there will be no more F1 meetings at the Norfolk Arena for four months until the end of September.

A final decision on whether the 26 June meeting will go ahead will be made after the last England qualifying game which takes place the Wednesday before the June meeting.

Drivers wishing to race at June should still book in as usual and should the meeting not take place we will ensure you are contacted.

The June meeting was supposed to be the King’s Lynn World Qualifying Round. With there being such a high chance that the June meeting will not take place and to ensure that shale drivers are not penalised in the chase for points in this year’s World Championship we have had permission from the F1 Management Board to change our World Championship Qualifying Round to the next meeting on Saturday 29 May.

We can understand that some drivers and fans will be disappointed with the potential loss of the June meeting and the fact that there may be no F1 meeting at the Norfolk Arena for four months but the early signs are that there will be plenty of support for the 29 May meeting which will hopefully make up for the potential loss.
