Another Great Awards Night!

The second Trackstar Awards Night took place at King’s Lynn Football Club and was another superb occasion which was well attended and a great night was had by all present.

Track Championship trophies and Merit Awards were presented to the top performer in the 2L Stock Cars, 1300 Stock Cars and Lady Bangers throughout 2010.

In addition awards were also presented in a number of categories for all three formulas which were voted for by drivers in a number of formulas throughout the UK.

First up was the Newcomer of the year in each of the formulas.

Taking the award in the Lady Bangers was 800 Alicia Greenslade who has performed fantastically in 2011. Alicia took 46% of the vote with 10 Charlotte Ward coming second with 27% of the vote. 67 Charlotte Whittaker recorded 18% of the vote with 219 Vicki Hopkin taking 9% of the vote.

The 1300 Stock Cars saw 209 Jonny Pearce take the vote for the Newcomer of 2010 and Jonny is a driver who has done better with every appearance he has made in 2010. Jonny took 27% of the vote with 14 Ant Heathway coming in second place with 23% and 818 Lewis O Keefe taking 19%. Alec Hannay took 17% of the vote with 236 Stuart Sharpe taking 14%.

Teen sensation 389 Ryan Santry rocketed to the top of the 2L Stock Car Newcomer of the year taking 54% of the vote. 233 Robert Aldridge was in second place with 26% of the vote whilst 184 Marty Colliver took 12% of the vote and 731 Barry Wade took 8%.

Next up were the awards for the most improved driver of the year. 730 Marie Neale who moved up the grades to the stars in 2011 was the one of the main grade jumpers of the year and her performance was noted as she took the award polling 33% of the vote. 95 Jade Harboard was in second place with28% of the vote. 444 Natasha Street recorded 22% with 61 Louise Geeves polling 9% and 150 Terri Mace 8%.

142 Lee Farrell is another driver who had moved from the yellows to reside with the reds during season 2010 for the first time and that was recognised by the rest of the drivers with “Monster” polling 32% of the vote for the most improved 1300 Stock car Driver in 2010. 240 Todd Shales polled 23% of the votes with 316 Danny McCluskey polling 19%, 347 Sam Reynolds 17% and 09 Buster Ketteringham 9%.

149 Jamie Sampson has performed fantastically well in the 2L Stock Cars this year and he won recognition for that from his peers by winning the Most Improved Driver Award for 2010 by polling 29% of the vote.  312 Neil Payne polled 21% of the vote with 321 Ryan Mee polling 18%. 728 Kris Woods polled 14% with 131 Timmy Barnes polling 12% and 638 Martin Bulldeath polling 6%.

The Driver’s Driver of the Year votes had no nominations and was an open vote where drivers could vote for whoever they wished. 444 Natasha Street was voted Driver of the Year in the Lady Bangers – an award she was clearly delighted to win! Natasha polled 26% of the vote with 213 Trudy Gowler the next most popular choice on 21%. In third place was 150 Terri Mace of 14%, 74 Caroline Garner polled 12% with 477 Amy Brown polling 10%. The remaining 17% was shared between 730 Marie Neale, 988 Holly Atter and 800 Alicia Greenslade.

240 Todd Shales won the Driver of the Year award in the 1300 Stock Cars polling 26% of the vote. 385 Roy Gedge was second on 22% with 142 Lee Farrell polling 18%. 316 Danny McCluskey polled 14% with 447 Richard Hampshire polling 12% and 473 Dean Moat polling 8%.

641 Willie Skoyles Jnr had the icing put on his best ever season by winning the Drivers “Driver of the Year” award by polling 24% of the vote. 120 Shane Brown came second with 20% with 499 David Aldous polling 18%. 115 Scott Aldrodge polled 13% of the vote with 219 Luke Grief polling 10%. 389 Santry polled 8% of the vote with 311 Steve Newman polling 7%.
